1. PoE 3.5 A CI/LL Tri-Curse Herald of Agony Occultist Builds
This make is stacking defensive layers to become able to live by way of virtually something, and applying curses reliably and from a protected distance is essential. Rain of Arrows is great to complete just that: it is possible to shoot it from a screen away and hit every single monster of a pack before they even see you, and without having needing any kind of pierce or chain to perform so.
There's 1 massive drawback to this: accuracy. Without Resolute Technique, we've got around 70% opportunity to hit, which significantly impedes our Virulence stack sustain, that is certainly to say the Crawler's damage, that is why we spend five ability points to grab it. Nonetheless, this is not too much of a loss: for the reason that the nodes around the path are strength nodes, which are required to work with a high-level Harm of Full Life assistance gem, and for the reason that we already grabbed pretty much all of the exciting nodes within the talent tree (all critical minion nodes, and each of the accessible ES nodes).
This development is produced to become pretty well-rounded. It has good clarity, good survivability, and seriously sturdy single target. This develop relies on the Agony Crawler, from Herald of Agony, to deal damage.
The Agony Crawler is often an incredibly interesting minion coming in the gem Herald of Agony. It follows you about and has 3 attacks: a single melee attack, which it generally never uses, one projectile attack comparable to split arrow, and a barrage of explosive projectiles. It was designed to have decent damage with out requiring investment in any minion nodes, so since this create is focused on it and thus takes minion nodes, it yields an amazingly sturdy and speedy tiny guy.
Pros & Cons:
+ Good clear
+ Good single target (Elder, Shaper, and Uber Elder down)
+ Great survivability, with over 10K ES, three curses, and very quick start of ES recharge
+ Cheap to get started - all required uniques are cheap, and ES gear is on average cheaper than their life counterpart
+ Can do all map mods
+ No need to worry about resummoning your minion, he's invulnerable to damage and summons/unsummons itself
+ Fun to play ("It's like a minion build but not boring" ~ Rockell)
+ Can take everything down up to Shaper without heavy investment and can take down Uber Elder with some further investment (a faster start of ES recharge Watcher's Eye is almost mandatory)
+/- It's a minion build, which feels clunky to some people and relaxing to some others
- The Agony Crawler doesn't have a perfect AI, and will sometimes get stuck behind walls, altough this can be solved by having a Convocation gem (now that it's instant cast, it's confortable to use)
- Requires one six-link for HoA, and one for sustaining poison - you can play with a five-link for your poison setup, but you'll only have two curses
- Off-colors can be hard to get on chest (4 green 2 blue)
Ascendancy:
Alternatively, after cruel lab, if you already have good ES gear and want to improve your clear, you can take Profane Bloom before Vile Bastion, but unless you really feel tanky enough already, I would still follow the order in the picture.
Bandits: Kill them all.
Easy choice: the only bandit worth helping on some builds is Alira, and since we do not profit from the crit multi, the two skill points are what we go for.

Leveling Guide:
Before starting
There are some gems you'll need that aren't given as quest reward and can't be bought as Witch. Therefore, you will need to get the following gems before starting. For each gem, I noted where you can get it in the story and as which class, but remember that if you have a character that has access to act 6, you can buy all gems from Lilly at act 6 after clearing the Twilight Strand, as well as in act 10, or after completing Siosa's quest in act 3.
If you're starting the league with this character and don't have access to these, you have two options: you can level up with your preferred minion skill (zombies + skeletons/raging spirits), or you can try to ask in global if someone with the right class can buy those gems for you. People are usually nice and very helpful, but do as you prefer
- Lesser Poison support [lvl 1] (on the Twilight Strand as Shadow)
- Pierce support [lvl 1] (on the Twilight Strand as Ranger)
- Rain of Arrows [lvl 12] (after killing Merveil as Shadow/Ranger/Duelist)
- Herald of Agony [lvl 16] (after killing Fidelitas and saving Helena as Shadow/Ranger/Duelist)
- Poison support [lvl 31] (only obtainable from Lilly or Siosa

2. PoE 3.5 FunRoom's Crit Herald of Agony PathFinder Builds
This makes you might be reading may well not have the highest dps, nevertheless, it need to contain all the things you may need to understand. I can assure you that the damage is completely adequate to complete all contents. Anyways, feel free to read other develop guides to seek out yourself a suitable ascendancy and playstyle.
The 3.5 nerf is harsh. I really feel sorry about those meta players losing directions to play the game.
Excellent news for us, this construct has dodged perfectly among bullet rains and is unharmed by the nerf hammers. It can be even slightly buffed due to banners.
1. Regarding Herald of Agony nerf
The base damage we are using in this build is purely physical damage given from Herald of Agony skill itself.
The increased physical damage per virulence modifier will apply to this base physical damage before we convert it to other elements. This change would only cause non-physical damage added to minions to not getting the multiplier.
Nerfed examples: added lightning damage support, added cold damage support, added chaos damage support, innervate support, anger aura, wrath aura, envy aura, added elemental damage to minions mods from abyss jewels, added chaos damage to minions mods from abyss jewels.
Since we are not using any of this stuff, we are clean from the nerf. Unharmed examples: added fire damage support, hatred aura, the grip of the council, physical to lightning support, added physical damage to minions mods from abyss jewel. And we never used any of the nerfed supports in this build. DPS would still be the same.
2. Regarding Quill Rain nerf
Quill Rain is nerfed from "40% less weapon damage" to "40% less damage". This means any source of indirect damage that you deal would be nerfed.
Attack-related stuff e.g. poison, ignite, bleed, damage over time from the caustic arrow and toxic rain, an explosion from the explosive arrow, etc. will now receive the lens multiplier. All spells will also receive the lens multiplier. Cast on Crit with Quill Rain is gone.
However, this nerf is only applied to all self-casting skills. Only YOU will be nerfed. Minions are unaffected.
Main Skills:
Herald of Agony
- Minion Speed (swap: Elemental Focus)
- Damage on Full Life
- Minion Damage
- Pierce (swap: Vicious Projectiles)
- Physical to Lightning (swap: Summon Phantasm on Kill)
Other swap option: Critical Damage
Rain of Arrows
- Poison
- Life Gain on Hit
- Blood Magic
- Curse on Hit
- Assassin's Mark
Optional: Culling strike, Blind, Knockback, Chance to Flee, Maim
Hatred
War Banner
- Generosity
Abyssal Cry for faster pack clears. Minion Damage nodes do affect its damage since you are also affected by those nodes. Quill Rain would now nerf this damage so it is not that reliable as before.

3. PoE 3.5 Guffin's Rain of Hope Builds
Ever wanted to feel unique and shred the Endgame Content using an absolutely "shit" Exclusive?
Then try out the remarkable Hopeshredder!
This is a Rain of Arrows pure Cold Elemental Create employing the Elder+Only Bow. Even though Creating around its unique Downside (a powerful Cold Degen) we obtain some good Benefits and are capable of clearing all Content on a fairly low Budget as Slayer/Raider.
If you'd like to skip the explanations, there is a PoB hyperlink at the Bottom of this Post.
Be sure to check the second Post, which consists of the FAQ, Create Variations and a few Suggestions for Deep Delves.
Pros & Cons:
+ Fast and brainless Map Clear (180%+ Move speed without QotF/Devotos)
+ Very good Boss Damage (Uber Elder no Problem) with an uncomplicated Playstyle
+ Pretty safe due to a high HP pool, Overleech and Dodge
+ Very Budget Friendly, using undesired non+meta Uniques and Rares
+ Super Safe Variant with tons of Phys Mitigation, Kaoms, etc. possible
+ Easy to gear for thanks to lots of passive Allres
+ Runs all Map mods except "Can, not Leech"
- No Phys Mitigation-/CI-/Maxblock-/etc. Tank. You need to dodge sometimes during Bosses
- RoA will never clear as fast as QOTF TS/KB Builds or Autobombers
- Loses in DPS against Builds like my BF Cold Conversion
- Harder Maneuvering during Endgame Bosses than Whirling/Leapslam
Offensives:
- 99% cold Damage, scaling with Penetration and Crit
- Enough to kill all Content in the Game, but no record Time Uber Elders are possible
Defensives:
- Evasion and Dodge based (56% Attack- and 30% Spell Dodge while mapping w/o Flasks)
- 10% Chance to avoid Elemental Damage on Hit
- 200% to 216% Life from the Tree (+ Kaoms) = Big HP Pool
- Overleech Carries Hard
- Maim, Chill, Freeze and Shatter reliably
- Always out of Range of Mobs
- Endurance Charges, Vaal Grace possible for HC
- Good Phys Mitigation through "Phys took as Cold" possible
Ascendancy:

Both of these Ascendancies are required to counter Hopeshredders Downside while capitalizing on its Benefits to the maximum.
Bandits:

4. POE 3.5 Agony Deliverance Tank. Bosses evaporated by scorpion friend Builds
Sharing my 3.five starter this league, a summoner champion primarily based totally around the agony crawler. I completed all content including hall of the grandmasters and uber elder. I've been impressed by the tank of this character, handling every little thing I threw at it with stride
Defence

When that's a fair list, the layers of defense have been very effective in keeping me alive

Ascendancy:

Worthy Foe is really good. "cannot evade" & 20% more is a great boost
Fortitude is good. bows usually can't get it.
Banners do very little for elemental crawler but inspirational is tempting anyway for movement clearspeed but you can get that on jewels without losing the big boosts of the other nodes
Pathfinder
On first glance, this should be good but the only thing it has going for it is your virulence stacks fade slower. Quill rain + rain of arrows makes it trivial to keep up stacks without this notable so its a bit redundant for a build based on the crawler without doing damage themselves
Occultist
The biggest advantage here seems to be the profane bloom explosions and going ES instead of life for a different style. Since 3.5 the explosions shouldn't scale with virulence stacks anymore so maybe less good

5. PoE 3.5 Herald of Agony CI Occultist Builds
The core of your build is a fairly standard Herald of Agony setup, but there are some modifications you could need to make to tailor the development for the preferences.
This guide needs to be rather comprehensive, so if I left something out, just ask within the comments.
Pros & Cons:
+ Can run every map mod
+ Survivable with 8k+ ES and good recovery
+ Respectable damage levels
+ Entry gear is quite cheap
- Takes a bit of currency to break past 1M DPS
- Tight gem space
- Mana reservation can be difficult at times
Build Mechanics:
Virulence: Virulence is a stacking buff you gain when you poison an enemy while affected by Herald of Agony. We use a fast hitting bow (Quill Rain) coupled with a bow skill that can hit a single enemy multiple times (Rain of Arrows). As the buff decays the higher stacks you have, it can be hard to keep high uptime on Virulence stacks if you don't invest into hits per second. Everything in this guide assumes 35 stacks as opposed to the cap of 40, as this is a more realistic number to be at during a boss encounter.
Specters: We use Stygian Silverbacks to give our Agony Crawler access to Frenzy Charges on bosses. The Frenzy Charges are worth ~30% more damage, which is why the Minion Life and Minion Regen is worthwhile on our passive tree. These aren't mandatory by any stretch of the imagination, but if you're looking for more throughput, this is one of the few ways to get it.
Recovery:
Being an Occultist, we couple Soul Strike's Faster start of energy shield recharge and Wicked Ward to give us massive regen that persists through hits. It's a tried and true concept that adds a lot of survivability to any CI build.
We also use a Watcher's Eye with energy shield gain on hit, in tandem with our large number of hits per second, yields upwards of 3000+ ES gained per second. This number is substantially smaller on single target encounters, but it does improve survivability while mapping. This isn't required, but it smooths out map gameplay.
Ascendancy & Bandits & Pantheon:
You'll want to prioritize getting Profane Bloom while you're leveling, as it speeds up your clear speed massively. Afterward, getting the extra flat energy shield from Wicked Ward and Vile Bastion will help you on the CI Swap. Take Malediction when you finish Uber Lab.
For bandits, we take the two skill points by killing all of them.
Pantheon is up to you. I personally use Soul of Lunaris for the Projectile Avoidance and Chain immunity and use Soul of Abberath because Burning Ground is annoying. There's nothing mandatory here, so just take whatever you feel is best.

6. PoE 3.5 Katniss Agony, LL HOA Pseudo Insta Leech Tank, Clear all Content Builds
Generally, this is my take on a Herald of Agony develop. The primary idea I wanted to achieve right here was utilizing Power Shield on Hit to try and capture that Insta leech feeling again. The most beneficial way I figured to complete that is maximizing our hits per second with harm coming from HOA.
6000+ ES/s Recovery on a Single Target
High Chaos Resist
Quite a High Evasion

Incredibly Higher DPS
11K+ Energy Shield

Fast and Mobile
Incredibly Higher DPS
11K+ Energy Shield
Can run any map mods
Ascendancy:
- Gathering Winds
- Fast and Deadly
- Far Shot
- Endless Munitions
Bandits: Kill All
Pantheon:
Major: Soul of Solaris for Bossing/ Lunaris for Mapping
Minor: Change as required, generally I use Tukohama for Bossing and Garukhan for mapping
